Wax melts and how to use them

Introduction to wax melts

What is a wax melt? By definition they are small, aromatic pieces of wax made gently melted to release their fragrance.

Wax melts are candles without the wick, you use them by popping a portion relative to the size of your oil burner and pop an unscented tea light candle underneath to gently melt and release their fragrance.

Wax melts come in different shapes, sizes and fragrances and here at Lucia Rose we have a large selection available for you to choose from.

The benefits of soy wax vs. paraffin wax

There has been a lot of talk about the health benefits of soy wax or paraffin wax.

The primary reason soy wax is better than paraffin wax is that it is all-natural. Paraffin wax can contain chemicals that can be harmful to your health and the environment. Paraffin wax is also more expensive than soy wax. Soy wax is made from all-natural soybeans and has no dangerous chemicals or toxins. Soy wax is one of the safest home candle ingredients on the market.

It is important to note that the “pure” soy waxes do not contain any beeswax. Bee wax is the most commonly used in paraffin candles. However, soy wax is superior. First, beeswax is exceptionally toxic to babies and children. For adults, bee wax can cause rashes and irritation. Soy wax is much safer for all purposes.

Soy wax is also cleaner and drier than paraffin wax. Paraffin wax can quickly turn rancid if not properly stored. Soy wax does not suffer from this problem. Also, it does not drip or sink in water like paraffin waxes.

Finally, soy wax is a renewable resource. As it is made from soybeans, there is no over-harvesting of the product. Soybean farmers are conscientious about growing high-quality soybeans so that they can use as much as possible of each crop. The benefits of soy wax are therefore not exhausted as it is a renewable resource.

A study conducted by the European Agency for Research on Cancer found that paraffin wax is a probable carcinogen. The dangers of paraffin wax have been shown in other studies, including animal studies and lab tests. So if you want to be safe, soy wax may be the better option for you.

Now that you know the benefits of soy wax vs. paraffin wax, you will make an informed decision when deciding which beauty product to use. Soy wax has natural ingredients and is biodegradable. It is also a renewable resource, so you won’t be harming the planet by using it.

Why soy wax melts are the preferred choice over other wax’s

Why is it that soy wax is the preferred choice over all other wax’s? There are a few essential reasons. Soy wax does not contain any synthetic chemicals, parabens, or petroleum products. Using this wax causes no harsh odour or allergic reactions.

Soy wax is like beeswax but much milder and does not melt quickly. It is also a very versatile material for home candle making. Candle wax burns clean because the flame’s heat does not penetrate through the wax to the wick. Soy wax burns cooler than beeswax, and it does not split on contact with air. As you might expect, soy wax is also much more cost-effective than most other waxes.

There are several benefits associated with soy wax candles. If you are interested in making candles but are discouraged by the cost of paraffin, propane, or gel candles, then soy can provide an excellent alternative. Soy wax is like cashmere and is often used in high-end luxury items such as lingerie and skincare products. Besides, soy wax is biodegradable, and some manufacturers will recycle it if it is disposed of. This makes soy wax a green option for those concerned about their candles’ impact on the environment.

Most candle manufacturers will tell you they prefer soy wax because it burns clean and is flame resistant. Candle wax can flake, fly around and land on the floor if it is not placed in the right container. This can damage the clothing on which it has been melted, and the effect can be unpleasant and difficult to remedy. Soy wax burns clean because it does not leave any residue on your clothing or your hands.

Soy wax is also a natural candle wax alternative because of its consistency. Most candles produced by other candle manufacturers contain a large percentage of paraffin wax, and these two types of wax may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Soy wax burns clean because it comprises one solid ingredient, soy. Paraffin wax includes several gases, and paraffin is frequently made with petroleum byproducts. There is only one wax ingredient with soy, which means it burns clean and is unlikely to irritate.

Finally, soy wax is created from all-natural ingredients. When candles are made from paraffin wax or petroleum wax, their manufacturing processes require harsh chemicals. When the wax is created with soy wax, producers have to use only natural products, and there is no need to add any harsh chemicals. Soy candles are also not likely to generate any toxic or chemical fumes during their production.

Once you understand how soy candles work and why they are so comfortable, you will wonder why other candles do not offer this comfort. Candles provide light for people to enjoy themselves, and the beautiful aromas they release should help people relax after a hard day at work. However, if you walk into a store today and see a dozen candle options, most of which are heavily scented and laden with paraffin wax, you may wonder why anyone would want to light those candles.

While soy wax melt candles are an excellent alternative to traditional wax candles, the real question you need to ask yourself is why not invest in soy wax yourself? When you understand the advantages of using soy over regular candle wax and recognise that soy wax candles burn longer than other waxes and create less mess, you will wonder why anyone would use anything else. With soy wax melting, you can choose to use all-natural, soy-based ingredients, or you can choose to use other natural scents and oils as well.
